Hey all! It’s your friendly Sunny Money SIte Admin! This morning, the world was burning and the chat was malfunctioning and all the coding in the world couldn’t save it. We took this as a sign to “Let it go” and upgrade to a better chat system –This was already in the works but a fire was lit this morning and made this possible sooner than we anticipated. At market open I was on the hunt for a new chat platform and after surveying many of our members and testing compatibility, Discord was the winner. In case anyone is unfamiliar with Discord, I thought this would be helpful in walking you through the login process for chat access:
1.login with your SMF account (username/email and password) at https://sunnymoneyfamily.com/login/
2.navigate to https://sunnymoneyfamily.com/chat/
3.click the “connect” button at the bottom of the Discord box to be redirected to the new Sunny Money Family chat via the private invite link.
4.Click “Login” at the bottom of the box or enter a new Discord username to be used for the chat.
5. if you use an existing account, do step 6 then skip to last step. If you create a new Discord username, follow all of the next steps.
6. verify your humanity by participating in the reCAPTCHA process.
7. Click either the settings wheel or the “claim account” button to proceed to step 8 and register your Discord account.
8. Enter your email and choose a password for the selected username. Check your email and verify the email address with the link Discord sends to claim your username.
9. Select “smf-20mon17” text channel to view the SMF chatroom. This will be rotating periodically due to subscription services but the chat page will be updated with the current links as they roll out.
We like the look and feel of the new chat platform we have integrated and hope you do too! We want to say thank you to everyone for their patience as we did some troubleshooting and maintenance this morning that led to the upgrade. You all are awesome and we appreciate you!
